Privacy Policy

AskTriply is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.

1. What Information We Collect

Information you provide:

  • Account information: Email address and password when you sign up
  • Trip information: Destination, travel dates, budget, number of travellers, food preferences, and any existing itinerary you paste into the form
  • Payment information: Payment is processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card details. We only receive confirmation of successful payment and a transaction ID.

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data: Which pages you visit, when you use the service, and how you interact with your audit reports
  • Device information: Browser type, device type, operating system, and IP address
  • Cookies: We use essential cookies for authentication (keeping you logged in) and preference cookies (dark/light mode setting). We do not use advertising cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To generate your audit report: Your trip details are sent to our AI system (Anthropic Claude) to generate a personalised travel audit. Anthropic processes this data under their own privacy policy and does not use your data to train their models.
  • To manage your account: Your email is used for login, password reset, and sending you your audit reports.
  • To process payments: Order information is shared with Razorpay to process your ₹99 payment.
  • To improve our service: We analyse anonymised, aggregated usage patterns to understand which destinations are popular and improve our AI prompts. We never analyse individual users' trip details for this purpose.
  • To send you important notices: We may email you about significant changes to our service, your account, or these policies. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

3. Who We Share Your Data With

We only share your data with third parties where necessary to operate the service:

  • Anthropic (Claude AI): Your trip details are processed to generate audit reports. Anthropic does not retain this data for training purposes.
  • Razorpay: Payment processing. Subject to Razorpay's privacy policy.
  • Supabase: Our database provider where your account and audit history are stored, hosted in secure cloud infrastructure.
  • Vercel: Our hosting provider. Server logs may contain your IP address.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We do not share your data with travel agents, OTAs, airlines, hotels, or any commercial travel entity.

4. Your Trip Data

Trip information you enter (destination, dates, budget, itinerary notes) is used solely to generate your audit report. This data is stored in your account so you can access past audits.

We do not share individual trip data with any travel booking platform, travel agent, or advertising network. If you paste a travel agent's itinerary into our form, that information is used only for your audit and not shared back with any agent.

5. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time by emailing us.
  • Audit reports: Stored in your account for 12 months so you can revisit them. After 12 months, reports are automatically deleted.
  • Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required by Indian financial regulations.
  • Server logs: Automatically deleted after 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Update inaccurate personal information
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data (subject to legal retention requirements for payment records)
  • Portability: Receive your audit history in a downloadable format
  • Opt-out: Unsubscribe from any marketing communications at any time

7. Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: Required for login and authentication. Cannot be disabled without breaking the service.
  • Preference cookies: Store your dark/light mode preference. Stored in localStorage on your device only.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any third-party analytics that track you across other websites.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • Passwords stored as secure hashes (never in plain text)
  • Database access controlled by Row Level Security policies
  • Payment data handled entirely by PCI-compliant Razorpay — we never see your card details

9. Children's Privacy

AskTriply is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us immediately at asktriply@gmail.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by a prominent notice on our website. Your continued use of AskTriply after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
